Winning 70% of your games is not considered bad. It's not great but it's good. 70% of 30 games is 21. A coach over a long span of time that wins around 70% or his games could end up in the hall of fame and in the upper tier in their profession. 80% is considered outstanding. The difference is 3 games. On any given year in college basketball roughly only a third of the D1 teams achieve at least 20 victories. It's still a decent benchmark.
