Things I loved:
10 steals, 7 players with a steal.
We handled their press well. The thing I liked most about it, was that Lauren was in the backcourt almost every time we inbounded from the baseline. That makes things so much easier. Lob the ball to her. Once she gets it, she has all 5 seconds to overlook things and find the open player. The once time that I recall them stealing from us on the press, Lauren was up at half court. And, a thing that was awesome, on at least one inbounds scenario, we had Betts and Dugalic in the back court. That can be so effective. If the opponent presses with their guards, we just lob the ball to one of them. Then we have a massive mismatch. We've got 2 of Charlisse, Kiki, Gianna, or Gabriela in the front court against their bigs. The one time I saw Dugs and Lauren in the backcourt on a press, it resulted in an easy layup for us.
Kneepkens getting scrappy as hell. Ripping. She's ripping rebounds and on one play, just ripped a ball out of the hands of an OSU dribbler.
Lauren finding other ways to score. If you give her all day to shoot a middie, there's a good chance she's going to make it. And, when she drove on Kitts. That's in her arsenal. If there is a seal to prevent the double from coming, Lauren can take players on the dribble.
Dugalic had a hell of a game. She picked up Cambridge down low a few times and shut her down. 28 minutes, 14 pts, 6 boards, 4 assists 1 TO, a steal and 3 blocks.
Kiki kind of saved us. They were taking away 3's, they were taking away Lauren's post game. What's left? Kiki driving the bucket. And, shawty had 8 boards.
And, it can't be said enough, Betts did such a good job on Cambridge on switches, OSU decided they would rather have our guards defending Cambridge on the perimeter than Betts. That's just nuts.
