UConn vs So Carolina in the semis if it goes chalk.
To me the best teams are UConn, us and South Carolina and there's a gap after that. (I feel like the top two are the top two and SoCarolina is the next best but I have a nagging feeling that undervalues SoCarolina....) Anyway, very happy to see it fall out like that.
I think we will hit the floor with 100% focus and energy to get a chance to revenge our loss to Texas. They jumped us early in that first game 'way back in November and we weren't able to full recover. We out played them the second half but the gap at halftime was just too much to overcome then. I do not think that would happen again. That energy is Texas' super power. It's really hard for anyone to match up against, but I completely believe we will do that and more if we get to face them again.
I had thought if we could gain the overall #1 seed, we could hopefully avoid UConn or So Carolina until the NC game which means I was hoping we'd get Texas in the semi final. But their in-season win late earned them - Texas - the chance to exchange places with So Carolina and - to me - that's just great news for us.
I had hoped UConn would have to play LSU early but instead we get them and that is going to be an amazing game. I'll take us to win it. I think we're the better team. But they're going to be cranked up and they've won some big games this season - I think that will be our biggest challenge on the path to the finals, I do. And I agree that we have the hardest path to get there. But if we can take care of business all the way, including against LSU, I think the dream final is set up.
And I can't blanking wait to see it through!
