I don't think he ever held more than a QP at a time, so less risk of being a target for other unsavory actors.
My HS best friend lived with dealers in undergrad at another UC and he woke up one morning with a shotgun in his face. The intruders tied him and his roommates up and cleaned them out completely. Immediately scared him and his friends straight.
And yeah, the NIL thing really points to the poor judgment of this guy. But as we know, young men have a penchant for doing very very stupid things that defy all reason.
