She's 6'4", has all the post moves. She can drive the basket with grace and power. She shoots over 35% on 3's. She's a great defender. I re-watched the Texas game, in the first half, it was Dugalic altering Booker's shots as much as it was Betts. With three minutes to go in the game, Dugalic stuffed Booker, gaining possession, same as Betts did.
Dugalic can bring the ball up against pressure, can defend the ball handler. She's an absolute dawg on D, in the post or on the perimeter.
Fournier is 3rd team AA. Dugalic is clearrrrrly better than
Fournier. The only other player in the discussion is Crooks, Crooks is a sieve on D and can't get up and down the court. Dugalic can start a break or finish a break.
The comparison's to Betts are not to bring Betts down, but to show how awesome Dugalic is. Betts, is the best player in the country right now. Shot almost 70% for the tournament. Best defender in the country.
The fact that Dugalic is so insanely talented, and went to close and said she was ok not starting. Wow.
In another thread, I posted what Dugalic did in the Duke game in the 3rd quarter and early 4th. She willed us to that victory. In short, she created three turnovers in a short period of time, and then at the end of the 3d, start of the 4th, starting when it was a 2 point lead, scored 7 straight points (3 buckets and an And1).
This is an amaaaaazing team.
