Cronin has the reputation of not promising much, if anything, beyond promising to give his guys a shot at competing and earning what they earn.
Perry, IMO, is not a true point guard. I think he can be a stellar backup point. To me he is a more effective 2 guard that still needs some work and growth - particularly on the defensive side of things.
IMO the same is true for Booker. He came on nicely toward the end of the season but still has a long way to go to be truly effective. Right now I see him as coming off the bench and getting significant minutes. But to rely on him as the primary big seems iffy at best.
If Clark gets his extra year then Cronin might want to go again with a three guard lineup either with Freeny being the third guard or with a new point guard. If that's the case then it may not be necessary to bring in a wing.
I still think Cronin needs to bring in two or three starter ready players and three IMO would be better.
