A thing I didn’t consider is we need to bring in 5 that are ready to play. And we’re not going to jettison anyone.
So that would put us at like 10.
I’m guessing WBB has a budget independent of mbb. If you divide the budget by 10 instead of 12, that gives you 16% more per player, or you could take that bench rider money and put it on 1 or 2 players.
I think the benefit, of the extra money far outweighs the risk. You can fill out the roster with walk-ons. You do not need the extra players for pratice. They practice with guys. And load management would not be an issue, imo. 200 minutes per game / 9 is 22.2 minutes per player. And, like I said, you could have walk-ons. With the opportunity for the walkons to get their own nil, and get a ucka education, and maybe earn their way into the rotation. One of the Dakotas perennially makes it to March madness. I’d try to pick up a starter from a team like that for little or no nil. They can’t be making much $ now. They’d get a way better education, opportunity to compete on a top level team, opportunity to earn their way into the rotation on a top level team. And they’ve competed under pressure before. So if you have to play them they won’t freak. Or, like one of the Cal Baptist players.
So, ya, use your scholarships. When I’m saying walk on I mean little to no nil. I’m in a hurry no time to rewrite.
