the question has to emerge. Think it came down to Trent and his advisors looking at his size and figuring he needs to be able to show himself as a ball handler to have a pro career and Mick wanting him to return for another season. If Mick believed he could work something out with the ball in Perry's hands at least much of the time, that pretty much decides that. Petty's role will be to cover the opponent's quickest guard, usually their PG, while Perry takes the slower guard when we're on defense.

Add Blackwell and the assignments shift again but depends on the opposing 3rd perimeter player - shooting guard or wing. If he's 6'8" we have a problem and may need to bring Freeny in and go with two guards, rotating the P-guys and Blackwell in two positions much of the time. Looking forward to seeing how this all plays out as the questions you raise I'm pretty sure have occurred to all of us
