The UCLA program has not declined under Cronin, it has improved.
Howland since 2009: 107-62 .633 only two NCAA tournament wins, by 1 over an #11 seed and by 2 over a #10 seed. In his only other tournament game he lost to a #11 seed by 20.
Alford: 124-63 .663 three Sweet 16's. Misleading since four of the six tournament wins were against #12, #13 and two #14 seeds. In his only other tournament he lost in the First Four to a #11 seed. Couldn't get past the S16 with three NBA 1st round and two 2nd round draft choices.
Cronin 162-76 .681 two Sweet 16's and one Final Four. A total of 11 tournament wins. Record would be even better if not for unfortunate injuries to the two Clarks, Bona and Bilodeau.
