right.
First, defensive development is the most important thing. That's difficult to assess.
But, offensively, Betts should be a very good 5, and she can rebound. I'm a big Gardiner fan. I think she's got better post moves than people think. And, she's a 39.5% 3pt shooter. To me, Bilic is a 3 that can cover all of the front court positions. She dominated Dugs as was tied w/ Jacquez at 10, in the 1v1 challenge. She shot below 30% on threes, that will need to improve.
Aarnisalo. Here are her last 4 games for UNC this season
vs. Virginia (W): 20 pts (led team), 4-5 on 3's, 7 rebs (led team); 4a, 2 to.
vs. Duke (W): 22 pts (led team); 4-5 on 3's, 7r, 4a, 4to
vs. VaTech(W): 18pts (2-3 on 3's); 5r, 6a, 1to
vs. Louisville (L): 17 pts (1-3 on 3's, 4r, 5a, 2 to
Down the stretch against 4 high quality teams, she averaged almost 20ppg, almost 6 rpg, almost 5 apg, a little over 2 tpg
To me, that's an elite 8 quality point guard. The downside is that she went 11-16 on 3's. That's not going to continue. Can she score when she's not white hot from distance? We'll see. From what I've seen, she's got a little bit of that Kayleigh Heckel flash to the basket in her.
So, there are pieces we could definitely add. But, as it stands, I think it's an elite 8 level roster.
