with the prices these guys are commanding this year, to land that guy might well mean giving up our ability to land Blackwell or Able should either decide to go with the offer we have already made to them. We don't know the financial situation. Most disheartening thing I've seen is that Able's price tag is up there with Blackwell's at this point. I was hoping if Blackwell committed to Duke or Louisville, we could bring in Able AND a post. Tipton has put in a crystal ball for Blackwell to Duke - confidence level only medium.
Cronin has prioritized Guard, Wing, Post. He has focused on trying to lure Blackwell and Able. To know what we have to spend, we need clarification on those two guys. So long as there's a possibility we might bring in an elite combo guard like Blackwell or a Wing like Able (a position at which we have pretty much nothing at the moment), it wouldn't make sense to commit to a backup post for a reported price of close to $2 million and just concede on our two top targets.
His recruiting at this point seems to show he believes we would be better off going with Booker and Dailey with the two PFs from the SEC as backups (along with the incoming freshman post) in favor of a true lead Wing who can soore and improve our midcourse defense than bringing in a backup post (he isn't going to sit Booker) and backup level wing/
