Addressing some of the concerns about Kusturica's game that have come up in recent days:
* Age - His youth is actually a plus since he is still growing and once we get him in the weight room, he'll get bigger and stronger. His game can only get better.
* Three-point shooting - We already knew he wasn't a very good 3-point shooter. I posted his stats when his name first came up (25% for all teams this past season). But although he's not a shooter, he's a scorer. He finds ways to score by driving, rebounding and drawing fouls. The shooting will improve with coaching and practice. Nobody mentions his passing. He made excellent dishes off the dribble and since not all of them resulted in scores, his assist totals didn't reflect that.
* Compatibility with Cronin - Mick will love him. He was named the outstanding defensive player in the tournament and excels at Cronin's favorite stat: deflections. He has long arms and in every game I saw he had quite a few.
* Experience against Big-10 type opponents - He played 11 games for FC Barcelona in the Liga Endesa which is considered to be the most competitive domestic league in all of Europe. He played double figure minutes in two of them and averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, shot 53% with only two turnovers per 36 minutes.
