WINNING explains attendance. During Cronin's years, they averaged about 7000 plus or minus a few hundred every season except 2022-23 when we won 31 games and were conference champions and the average was about 9300.
You are way off on close games against "good teams in big games". Close games against ranked teams the last two seasons:
