Don't know what these youngsters are thinking with shooting mechanics like that. But you just never know. I've played with several players who had terrible mechanics but a high percentage of their shots went in. Sometimes it all comes down to touch and confidence. Not all were so fortunate though. One player who had a shooting motion similar to Philon's technique was Dean Smith. One of the worst looking shots I'd seen back in the day. That was when we were in the service together over in Germany--before Dean became famous.
