I can still vividly remember some of the photographs in those magazines.
I remember a photo of Ron Bonham of the University of Cincinnati taking a jump shot. The photo was of him entirely. You could see his whole body fairly close up from his feet all the way up to the ball. I remember thinking how beautiful his form was and how high he had gotten off the floor.
Another one was of an unknown Northwestern player driving along the base. Again, full body. I remember thinking how strong he looked and how low he was while he was driving.
Another was of Walt Hazzard with that leaning in jumper he used to do. I remember thinking how strong his legs looked and how high he was off the floor.
And there was Mel Daniels of the University of New Mexico, and the great Wayne Estes from Utah State. And there was John Rudometkin of USC and Mel Counts from Coos Bay Oregon and Oregon State, and Jo Jo White from Kansas, and Cotton Nash from Kentucky, Barry Kramer from NYU, and Bill Bradley from Princeton, and on and on and on.
