Watched the first half. I saw UConn starting line up including Ashlyn Shade, KK Arnold, and El-Alfy. I thought, hey, maybe UConn is down this year. I'm still not impressed with those three, but UConn added an 18 year old guard from Serbia. Granted, it's an exhibition, but on the night she looked as good as any guard in the country not named Hannah Hidalgo.*She does it all. Had 10 points in the first 15 minutes. And, is very good in every aspect of the game. And, they added a 6'5" int'l center, Vukosa, also a very complete player. Very good passer, and had a play where got the ball at the top of the three, drove, spun, spun back, and got a layup. UConn didn't play Quinones for some reason.
Texas lost a ton from last year's team, but they had the #1 recruiting class and the young ladies look good. So much so that Etute, who the switched from us, was hardly noticed. Don't know how quickly they can come together as a team, and how quickly those Freshmen can get up to speed, but they are forreal.
*FG 7-11, 3's 3-3, 7 reb, I think it was 4 asst, 4 TO's. And, she looked like a fantastic player, beyond the stats. A/TO ration was not good, but it's preseason
