In no particular order:
* As I mentioned right before the game started, Pauley was nearly empty. I can't recall a worse-attended game in my 50 years + 1 game of UCLA BB (not counting the pandemic, of course)
* Eric Dailey was ON FIRE from behind the 3-point line! My goodness, he was draining 3s one right after another!
* Petty has some really nice PG skills, and has REALLY quick hands. I'd bet that he'll lead the team in steals and deflections this season
* Kusturica's name was pronounced by the PA announcer as: "koo-stoo-reet-sa"
* Speaking of Kusturica, wow, he's really impressive. What a skill set! He's a very good and quick leaper too. He has excellent instincts for the game, reacting to where the ball was being passed or how it was bouncing off the rim, timing his jumps to outrebound his opponent, and timing his reach to deflect a pass or block a shot. I can see why people are raving about him and saying he'll be a star. I do think that, at times, he appeared a bit raw, but hey, he's 17 years old!!!
* Just based on this one exhibition game, I'd say we're going to be pretty damned good at the guard and forward positions. Our big weakness, pun fully intended, will be at the center/post position. I think teams with big, tall, strong centers/posts are going to give us a lot of trouble, and that we're going to have to use our strength at the G and F positions to overcome that weakness.
JMHO.
GO BRUINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
