If that’s the case, I’m kind of meh.
For me, I feel like the big tv money is generated by interest in the schools in a particular conference. I like that money going to support other athletes at a school. Now, with NIL, if a player’s profile enables him/her to get paid individually, more power to them. I have no objection to pay for play. I think the portal needs to be tweaked (I don’t have a proposal). The main thing I wd do is stucture nil contracts so that they are backloaded for the end of the season. Like pay a stipend with a big payment at the end when a guy finishes the season on the field (an exception for injuries shd be included.)
But that’s just my opinion. Fear not, no one is knocking on my door asking me to tell them how to run this.
