Rees could become something special. He could also be a dud. I think he’s more than a bit too green, but in 2-3 years he could be a home run. Reality is that nobody is doing anything with the current roster while entering a new conference. I think Rees’ youth could energize the program. I think he made a lot of errors at Bama last year but he literally played at the top of the food chain. He did it at Bama and ND.
Locksley would not be on my radar.
The problem I have with all of the candidates is nobody I’ve seen mentioned is going to energize the UCLA fanbase. This program needs a shot of adrenaline. We need a chip like hire; but that guy doesn’t exist at this stage of the cycle. To be fair Chip didn’t energize the fan base and I’ve never figured out why. Maybe we are just a zombie program.
