Football fans still think HS recruiting is important. It isn't. HS football recruiting is the JVs. Ucla can't afford a JV.
In basketball HS recruiting is sometimes very important if you have a Lonzo Ball for instance, but more often in the future transfers will have an immediate impact. Fans seem more aware of this on the basketball side than on the football side, regardless of whether it's the same person.
