Dumb take.
"Chip was not a good head coach. He was being paid $6mm a year." Both statements from your post. Care to make some sense out of yourself? Actually, don't bother.
Chip was something like 27 - 11 over his last 3 years. When he took over, the program was a smoldering wreck, comprised of the youngest team in college football with nearly all Fr, RSFr, So players, lacking a returning QB and challenged by the toughest schedule in the conference and in the nation for his first two years.
From that humble beginning he rebuilt a sustainable base for the program and was consistently making progress toward greater levels of success. He finally put a top 10 defense on the field and together with his largely successful offenses, the stage was set for the program to now leave base camp and head for the summit.
But, just then the government employees in Morgan Center fired him and replaced him with an untried, inexperienced head coach, thereby destroying what had been built and starting all over again. Incompetence. Once again proving Ucla is not an elite school as it's too stupid to compete in the free market that is college football. Incompetence with stupidity have been our brand for nearly 30 years. You should be in open revolt against the government employees in Morgan Center, not fellow Bruin fans.
Any Bruin fans who don't see the gross incompetence at Morgan Center as the stumbling block for this program are committing acts of willful ignorance.
