they need to contribute more $$$, while Chip ignored the boosters, ignored NIL, and pretty much ignored recruiting; then logically, Foster deserves credit for any revived UCLA recruiting success, even if it's just greater interest from players who wouldn't even answer the phone when UCLA called (admittedly, UCLA was hardly calling anyone at all, so there weren't that many players who weren't answering the phone), while Chip deserves the blame for UCLA's very real recruiting failures (the buck stops with the Head Coach).
Of course, maybe it doesn't all come down to money after all, but then Chip has to answer for his very underwhelming recruiting from before NIL existed. I'm still waiting for your answer to my question on that (don't worry, I'm not holding my breath).
