Two things:
1. Their line-up is too top heavy, while the bottom of the line- up is almost non-existent.
They leave a boat-loaf of runners on. I would intermingle their line-up. Put a few of the bottom feeders between Betts. Ohtani, Freeman, and Smith. When you put the stars all up front, you're giving up potential RBI's
2. Roberts doesn't know how to handle pitchers; especially relievers. He doesn't know when or who to put in or take out. A pitching coach knows the techniques of pitching and knows how and why to throw,
but doesn't understand situations.
But I don't blame Roberts. It's not his field, so he relies on analytics rather than psychology.
