This is an asinine post.
I dare anyone to find a post that even suggested Riley would be the best SUC coach ever. SUC has a pretty illustrious history — Jones, McKay, Robofat, Pete. That’s a tough nut to crack.
That doesn’t mean people didn’t say it was a good hire. It was a GREAT hire. Who didn’t want Lincoln Riley as their HC? He only produced Heisman winning QBs and #1 NFL draft picks like Pez. He took Oklahoma to multiple BCS games. Yeah, who would ever want that.
Then your “thought” process bleeds into comparing hiring big name coaches (that Saban character was a terrible hire) to stating that star rankings are erroneous. You must be completely brain dead. Anyone who knows anything about college football understands the DIRECT CORRELATION between top high school recruiting success and championships. See Bama, Georgia, LSU, USC, Texas, Ohio State and almost any team that was won in the last 30 years.
Now back to hiring “name” coaches, do you think Saban was a good hire? How about Urban Meyer? Jim Harbaugh? Is he any good? So basically the top coaches in the last 25 years were all big name hires.
Do yourself a favor, perfect the cross-stitch and leave football to the sentient. Alternatively, just have private conversations with Deplorable so we can kill 2 birds with one stone.
