I doubt we'll ever know how hard Jarmond tried to get an experienced Head Coach, or how many (if any) rejected offers. I really thought he'd take a run at someone from the SWAC or some other HCBUs. Did he try any coordiantors? We'll likely never know that either.
But it's unlikely any of them could have won with the available talent and their wasn't much time to bring in new (experienced and talented) players through the portal.
People alway talk about new coaches winning because of the talent their predecessor assembled. Foster is losing because of the talent Chip assembled, which isn't to say he would win more with more talent, but the Indiana game made it abundantly clear the talent required to win even a mid-major FBS game just isn't there right now.
