18. UCLA (1-1)
Last week: 17
This week: at LSU
What to know: The Big Ten knew UCLA was no football powerhouse when it invited the basketball school to the party, but it also didn’t anticipate the Bruins being a football outhouse.
18. UCLA (1-1 overall, 0-1 Big Ten)
Result: 42-13 home loss to Indiana
On a night that could have been a terrific showcase for UCLA, which became the first West Coast member of the Big Ten to host a conference game, the Bruins were laughed off the field by an Indiana team picked 17th in the league's preseason poll. UCLA managed just 238 yards of total offense and only converted twice on third down. It could be a long season for first-year head coach DeShaun Foster.
17: UCLA (1-1); Previous Rank: 15
It was an embarrassing Big Ten debut for UCLA as it let usual-doormat Indiana reverse the roles and walk all over them.
The Bruins barely got by Hawaii in their opener and their bye week didn’t do much as they looked terrible. Senior quarterback Ethan Garbers was pitiful as he went 14-of-23 for 137 yards and an interception. The running game was not any better as they only managed 3.7 yards per carry.
It seems like nothing can go right for UCLA. They have no notable playmakers, no rhythm and no hope. It will be a long first season in the Big Ten for the Bruins.
