people should remember that UCLA did in fact significantly upgrade its football facilities, sign a huge deal with
UA, and did in fact go big and spend big to hire Chip MF 46-7 Kelly. When we hired him, was the story "oh, UCLA is just not committed to winning in football?"
Under Mora, when things were going well and we broke ground, UCLA took steps to keep him from being hired away when his name came up for jobs at Texas and Washington.
UCLA is obviously a conservative, slow-to-react, politically correct public California University, but I'm always skeptical that some massive overhaul of the school culture is possible or even necessary.
