I think everyone needs to sign 2 year deals. There needs to be some consistency and growth potential. Additionally, It gives one a chance at 3 different places if for some reason an athlete can’t find the right fit.
Those deals will be 2 year employment agreements under a contract. Additional NIL $$ can still be made by companies with non-adverse interests to employer. Meaning no-Nike at an Adidas school.
It’s pro ball in college with less guard rails. What could go wrong?!?!
Btw I don’t buy any of these claims. No, “verbal promises” for 6 figure sums are not enforceable contrscts. Any attorney or agent who is hanging his/her hat on the enforcement of “verbal promises” should have its license revoked for incompetence. Contracts shall be written. Contracts must state what must be performed and how much compensation is due for performing in accordance with this contract. This isn’t breaking news.
