Went to the Chargers game on Sunday. Hadn't been to an NFL game in 40 years. If I was a neutral, there is no way I'd pick going to the Rose Bowl over the Chargers. The game was a blast. They actually showed replays of controversial plays. The game announcer is more like an MC than a game announcer. They play music between plays, but not too loud, not where it's uncomfortable. The crowd is hyped all game long. Tons of crowd shots (only of people wearing Chargers swag) during the down times. Paid $74 for each ticket. Parked for free. Least importantly, it's wayyyyyyy closer than the RB.
If you don't already have a rooting interest in UCLA, then a Chargers game blows a UCLA game away. I always new the in-the-stadium experience at the RB was below par. But, this was shocking. Brought home how lazy the Athletic Dept is about providing a fun experience at the game. I've read that since we're renting, we don't have control, or much control, over the experience part. That's BS. Everything is negotiable.
