The Defense finally looked like what I expected at the beginning of the year. QB's had all day to stand, rooted in one spot in the pocket against us and it killed us. this week we saw a blitz/pressure package which addressed some of our biggest issues this year on defense (tho 3rd down defense got worse in the 2nd half and still needs work).
And it was the perfect time. Raiola is a true frosh, and will panic under pressure like every true frosh. He did. We don't win that game without the constant pressure we put on them in the passing game.
Not sure if it will help much this week. Iowa will try to run the ball down our throat, over and over, and with the QB change, the QB run is really dangerous and the key to them scoring so many points recently. We have the speed to shut that down, but do we have the resilience to stop McClendon.
One thing to know about Iowa tho, is that they haven't been anywhere near as good on the road as they are at home. A bit odd for a team based on playing defense and running the ball, but that's what I've seen. Should be an interesting clash in styles for Homecoming Friday Night.
