Chip was a schemer, a tinkerer. Call him a football nerd. Mora was more of a salesman and tone-setter. Like a CEO. Rick was a cheerleader and a recruiter. An all-hat-no-cattle coach. Dorrell was aloof and wedded to his WCO. A dullard.
I don't know what Foster is. I don't think he schemes much. I'm not sure how hands-on he is with scouting, planning practices, etc. I'm not sure how much recruiting he does or if he's any good at it. He doesn't seem to be locked in to a certain way of playing.
The players seem to like him though, and they are still competing after a bad start and a disappointing loss to Minnesota that could have easily knocked them down for the count. We are pretty physical. Maybe he's a behind-the-scenes, players' coach?
It's all I can come up with.
Maybe he's just riding a veteran QB, a good DC in Malloe, and a run of mediocre opponents?
