Stanfords teams under Harbaugh .... are you sure they didn't have OL that were highly rated when they came in? What they for sure did have was fantastic TE's, and they often had more than one of them on the field at a time.
Nebbie and Wiscy are states where there is only one big D1 school - the in state OL are not likely to leave the state. They got the best instate OL year after year. They were always going to have depth and experience. Iowa has pretty much been in the same position until recently. Iowa State wasn't anyone's dream school.
