In the last 9 years we have had two winning conference seasons, DTR's last two years on the team. 3-6 and 4-5 these last two years, 3-4,4-5, 3-6, 4-5, 2-7 before that. Meanwhile, our ticket prices go up, the cost of the WAF "donation" goes up, and the number of fans in the seats goes down.
So what do they do? They overpay a rookie coach, and extend the contract of the AD who does it.
I talked with a friend who is a Wisconsin Booster who met with their AD. The AD said that they have to be successful at football or all the other sports don't get funded. We haven't had a run of winning conference records for a decade.
It won't get better. CDF is over his head, our NIL program is way behind everyone else, and the AD doesn't recognize the problems.
But at least our waterpolo and soccer teams kick a$$.
I've had season tickets for over 35 years, I'm honestly thinking of stopping, because it won't get any better and just leaves me depressed and angry. The only dim light in this tunnel is the glaring underperformance of U$C.
Go Irish. Run up the score.
