None of the kids on scholarship were chosen by him. EB also runs a completely different scheme than Chip so it’s not surprising that none of the current guys fit the mold he wants.
The one problem here is that Martin played ok for a first time starter in Happy Valley. That being said, clearly the current admin didn’t want to put the full court press on him. They see him much more than we do, so I’ll defer.
5 stars will not be going to the SDSUs of the world. Five star QBs are making significant $$. Too much for non-power programs. The QBs at the power programs are doing fine. Also, no freshman QB should be starting at a major program. It’s almost always been that way. QBs need seasoning and integration into a new system. The best way to do it is always have a QB RS his first year then he still has 4 years to play.
