Rule #1: when they tell you it’s not about the $$, it’s about the money. I’m sure that’s not breaking news to you.
Like I tried to say, that’s probably only the 5 stars guys. The other guys aren’t really making that much. You hear all these pie in the sky #s, but I think it’s alll fluff. If you win the NC an extra 100k, if you score 50TD it’s an extra 200k etc. Higj threshold milestones earning bonuses. So yeah, you can say player X has NIL of 2mm or whatever, but most of that is pie in the sky. It’s like NFL contracts. Look at what’s actually guaranteed. I’d argue the emperor is dressed much less well if these contracts were examined carefully.
Therefore, I want to the signing bonus and any guaranteed amounts. I’d be interested in seeing Bryce Underwood’s deal. It’s supposedly around 10mm over 4 years by Ellison and Portnoy. LSU was offering somewhere between 1-2mm but only for Y1…:supposedly.
We need a Portbiy or Ellison.
