Gotta find $$$$$$ to pay players and coaches big bucks.
I personally feel they should just make go ahead and have every team play every round rather than first round byes. Yeah that's a 16 team playoff. The only way you find out who is really the champion is by head to head competition. Otherwise we just have (as the BCS aways was), a beauty contest.
Also I still don't understand how Penn State could lose to Oregon and then draw SMU and possibly Boise State to get to the finals, where Oregon will likely have to play Ohio State.
Still I think there will be some very interesting games out there even with 12 teams.
