I look at college athletics with a completely different lens now. The traditional recruiting doesn't hold as much importance as there are a ton of players jumping in the portal every year. The portal is just as, or possibly more, important.
And I now view college athletes as professionals without much loyalty to any school (other than the one that will pay them the most). Oregon is at the top because they have more NIL money being thrown about ($968 M by one article). Best team money can buy...
