I love Dillingham, but we can't really say that Foster has been worse than his first 2 seasons.
Foster is in his first real offseason, whereas Dillingham is on his 3rd, and Foster won almost as many games in his 1st season (even with that emergency half offseason he got) as Dillingham did in his first 2 seasons.
We also saw a lot of improvement during the year, much like you could see in Dillingham's first season.
As to Indiana? It remains to be seen how Cignetti does. He was able to take advantage of the portal in ways Foster had zero chance to do, and Indiana had a very soft schedule. They were very good, but they wouldn't have made the playoff if they had had to play our schedule (tho with all the experienced JMU transfers he brought with him that Foster couldn't do, he would have done a bit better). Also, while the EB hire was great on paper at the time, it was awful in practice, and we lost multiple games in large part due to bad offense/gameplanning/playcalling.
It's also rather telling that we were able to hire our new OC away from Indiana. I think it will work out much better than the EB hire, but that remains to be seen.
