Please NO. What makes college football so amazing is the regular season. Do not sacrifice regular season games for 12-14 teams. Expanding the playoffs is just STUPID. There are not 14 playoff quality teams. There are probably a lot of reasons/excuses but the ratings for the final four was down SIGNIFICANTLY from last year. Maybe there are too many playoff games and cfb is experiencing exhaustion. There is a lot of cross over with the NFL in terms of fans bases. Perhaps, there is only so much football people can absorb (well, except for me hahah).
Nobody should get auto berths. Let the old bcs computer/AP system select the playoff teams in order and seed accordingly. I’d go back to 2 teams, but you can’t put the $$ genie back in the bottle.
You can’t play the champ game on 1/1 if you have a playoff because of academics. I know Hahahahhaha. The best selling point for 1/1 is so that college doesn’t have to battle with the NFL, unless of course 1/1 is a Sunday. I’m sure the NFL would be pigs and Bigfoot Saturdays too.
