Glad that those three have reached the pinnacle of their profession.

One of the classics of coach speak is, "It's our job to put the players in a position to succeed." (Meaning, coach them up to execute. Scheme to exploit the other team's weaknesses and our strengths. Call the right plays at the right time.)

But coaches are pieces on the board, too.

So a corollary is, "the admin should put the coach in a position to succeed." Figure out what his weaknesses are... and then buttress him in those areas. Some things can't be outsourced, such as the product in the field, locker room management, practice plans, oversight of s&c program and nutrition program, etc. But other things like donor relations, etc, can be outsourced. The Chancellor is not the only one who asks for money on the university's behalf.

Seems like tOSU has figured that out. Seems like Ucla hasn't. Still.
