USC has hired Chad Bowden as their football programs new "General Manager". Chad is revamping the entire front office, thereby freeing up "Lincoln-Lincoln, why have we been stinkin'?" Riley to coach up the players.
I assume Chad will handle the NIL bag for the Trojans, meaning he will negotiate the deals that bring top players into the program. So, some 18yo kid can become an instant millionaire with just a HS diploma. Is this a great country, or what? Of course, that same kid could leave a year or two later for a better offer elsewhere.
What is needed here is a private auction where the best players are put up for bids, with the winner gaining the rights to their services for maybe at least one year.
It will be a players market and maybe it's about time for that to happen.
