interpretation of my comment.
San Jose State hasn't won more than 7 games and has 6'3" 225 Walker Eget returning as the starting QB (189/337, 2,504 yards, 13 TDs, 10 INTs, 128.4 QBR).
Eget certainly isn't a world beater but he knows the system. McDaniel, who wasn't beating out Aguilar, and didn't have an offer before UCLA came calling at the last minute, despite Greg Biggins hyperbolic evaluation, after
Madden Iamaleava decommitted and signed with Arkansas, is unlikely to beat out Eget in the Spartans' fall camp.
Maybe he becomes a starter during the season. Maybe then he follows Eget's predecessor Emmett Brown to Coastal Carolina, and gets a high major gig as a junior or senior in 2027 or 2028.
Regardless, he wasn't going UCLA on the field this year or next. His willingness to take a chance at being a backup at SJSU proves that, as well as my point.
