The proposition is to compare him to what we have, not what happened at Nike.
When you do that comparison, Jarmond disappears.
Success or failure, this guy comes out of and has deep experience with a commercial world that CFB is evolving into. TV money, NIL and the portal have turned CFB into a price-bid organized, competitive market. He may fail at Stanford, but his background is relevant to today's CFB. The comparison to Jarmond is stark.
Jarmond completely lacks commercial and competitive experience. He can claim zero expertise or track record (good or bad) in the business world which is now ruling CFB. Jarmond is certainly a failure at Ucla (spare me the non-revenue sports diatribes). He's a throwback to the old NCAA, rules-based order where suits made rules and ran the sport as a fiefdom. He applauds any movement toward reestablishing those rules and decries the market competition he now sees and cowers from. Those NCAA days are over for Ucla, Jarmond and the entire sport.
Get the football team away from Morgan Center and its collection of useless relics like Jarmond.
