UCLA fans have been though 26 straight seasons with no conference titles or major bowl appearances. It is very likely that number will hit at least 27 and it could very easily hit 40. In that time the NFL has returned to LA, and the city has seen pro sports championships in football, basketball, baseball, and hockey.

The last time UCLA had some success (Pac 12 championship game appearance followed by back-to-back 10 win seasons), UCLA was top 3 in Pac-12 home attendance. Then Chip came in to double tap the fanbase.

What you call fair weather fandom I call a predictable response to years and years (and years) of mediocrity.
