These issues were well known from his time at Oregon. There were many there who were quite happy to see him leave. I had friends connected to the program that spilled some dirt, but it wasn't really anything that hadn't already been reported in the media. In the end, he proved to be exactly what he had been known to be, a bright football mind connected to an ahole POS that was unwilling to do the things that were required to run a successful program.
