This is, hands down, the worst UCLA football team I’ve seen in the last 50 years. Coaching hire decisions matter. As we’ve seen over and over again, the way to improve the program is finding a good non P4 head coach (like Indiana did when they hired Cignetti from James Madison) or a top notch assistant coach. Hiring somebody just because they have “name” value (Chip Kelly) or a connection to UCLA (e.g. Neuheisel, Dorrell, Foster) is NOT the way to go. Hopefully somebody in charge figures this out sooner than later.
