You are free to believe in whatever crazy sh!t you want, you just don't have the right to impose your beliefs on anyone else.
Freedom of religion means freedom from religion. If you aren't free to make your own choices without someone telling you what you have to accept then you are not free.
And as an all accepting poor persecuted white Christian living in Murica, I suppose you would find the situation just as copacetic if instead of praising HeyZeus, the coach was instead giving all the credit to Allah, reciting the Koran and telling recruits that if they didn't like it they could piss off.
