Unless there's something toxic beneath the surface that caused this season's nose dive, James Franklin seems like a slam dunk hire. Penn St has been one of the top programs in the country over the last 10 years, and they weren't in great shape when he took over. His success at Vanderbilt is also a good signal for what he could do at UCLA. And he's still fairly young, no indications he'd be looking for a cushy job and a semi-retirement.
