Which got me thinking, in the current college sports ecosystem, having an outstanding football team is kind of like a male bird, having great plumage. For the bird, it shows all the females that you're strong, you'll be able to thrive. In the college world, it shows that your alumni are strong, look how successful they are, they can buy this great football team.
A stretch? Quite possibly, but I also think it's something that sc has believed from the beginning. In all their corporate partnerships, they are incorporating their sports into the messaging.
UCLA has more applications than any other school, so they probably would push back against this POV. Hard. But, there is more to advancing the school's interest than attracting students.
But, I wonder if NIL is going to eventually raise the profile, in all aspects, of a school like TT.
