For nearly 62 years (and counting), UCLA has held the distinction of being the only college to have had both an undefeated football national champion (1954) AND undefeated NCAA basketball champion (1964, 1967, 1972, 1973). If Indiana, whose undefeated team won the 1976 NCAA basketball title, beats Miami a week from Monday, they will achieve the double. So all I can say is (for the first time ever): Go 'Canes!
Incidentally, the only other undefeated NCAA basketball champions were the Univ. of San Francisco in 1956 (with Bill Russell) and North Carolina State in 1957.
